Research Officer

 

Tasks

• Bioinformatic analysis

Genome sequencing analysis; transcriptomic sequencing analysis; metagenomic sequencing analysis etc.

 

• Computer server maintenance

Installing Linux system updates

Installing packages and software updates

Maintaining server administration for multiple users

 

• Programming

Coding pearl script for data processing, data mining

Coding R script for statistical analysis

 

• Website and database management

Maintaining website updates

Sequencing data storage, backup and management

 

• Biological experiment

Performing DNA/RNA extraction

Isolating for bacterial purification

Constructing library for high throughput sequencing

 

• Testing

Carrying out new test procedures including software are reviewed, included in the procedure manual and followed by personnel

 

• Business trips

Conducting effective communication with all collaborators in which requires frequent travel for meeting, negotiation, supervision and technological exchange

 

• Following and delivering tasks assigned by the Director(s)/supervisor(s)

 

Requirements

Applicants should possess a M.Sc./M.Phil. degree in Molecular Biology/ Bioinformatics or equivalent, or a B.Sc. degree with at least 2 year's relevant work experience. Experience in molecular biology techniques is required. Those with experience in NGS data processing and analysis would have an advantage.
